Hi, I'm Kim!

I have an MA in linguistics, a BA in biology, and minors in writing and literature. My research interests include creole languages, morphology, and sociolinguistics. When I'm not teaching or creating, I enjoy traveling and trying a variety of cuisines. I've been to Jamaica, Canada, the UK, the Bahamas, and Singapore. Next on my list are Vietnam, Japan, and South Korea.

Latest Academic Project

Iconicity and semantic transparency in Jamaican Creole: Investigating speakers’ interpretations of reduplicated nouns, verbs, and adjectives (2019).
